Dart Transit and Dart Express Change Owners After 92 Years

San Francisco-based private investment firm Avkha Equity Holdings has officially acquired family-owned Dart Transit and Dart Express, along with their subsidiaries, effective January 1, 2026.
After nearly a century of family leadership, the Oren family is passing the torch while ensuring continuity:
  • David Oren remains President of Dart Express
  • Mike DelBovo continues as President of Dart Transit Group
  • Tom Witt joins as the new CEO
What’s staying the same:
  • The Dart brand and operating companies remain unchanged
  • Drivers, staff, and customers continue business as usual
  • Avkha plans to grow the business with new lanes, intermodal solutions, dedicated fleets, and logistics services
Deal terms were not disclosed, but Don Oren says it’s “the best possible outcome” for the company.

Venture Transport Launches New Dedicated Team CDL-A Positions

Indianapolis-based Venture Transport has announced the launch of new Dedicated Team CDL-A driving positions, expanding its regional freight operations. The company currently employs nearly 1,400 drivers and says the move is driven by growing customer demand for reliable, team-based regional service.
According to Venture, the new team program is designed for experienced CDL-A drivers seeking strong earnings, consistent schedules, and predictable home time. Drivers in these positions can expect home weekly routes without sacrificing company support or job stability.
  • Program Highlights:Up to $2,100 per week, per driver
  • Approx. $109,200 annually per driver
  • $0.84 CPM split ($0.42 per driver)

Venture states that these team positions are built around consistency, predictable schedules, and competitive pay — factors that many drivers consider top priorities.
